Workshops launch school's anti-bullying campaign

cherry-kickitout-1.jpgCoaching staff from Lincoln City Football In The Community supported by Imps stars Anthony Pulis and Adam Watts helped launched a special week of activities (October 2009) aimed at stamping out bullying in a local primary school as part of the One Game One Community national weeks of action.

Cherry Willingham Primary, near Lincoln, asked Football In The Community to provide a day of workshops to pupils on the theme of social inclusion, respect, equality and diversity. The workshops - titled "It's Cool to be Different" - also kicked off a week of activities in a number of schools as part of the national campaign.

After enoying a morning of working together to understand and discuss this important subject, pupils then continued the theme by producing their own classroom work, including letters, poems, t-shirt designs, posters and even a rap song which they performed at the end of the day with the help of the school's music teacher.

And Imps stars Watts and Pulis also dropped in to join in the fun and talk to pupils about their own experiences and to look at pupils' work. Both players have taken part in One Game One Community activities at their previous clubs, Fulham and Southampton, and they handed out stickers and badges to everyone who had taken part throughout the day.
