Domino's Cup receives Football League award nomination

doms_award_1.jpgLincoln City’s Football In The Community Half-Time Tournament, sponsored by Domino’s Pizza, has been nominated in the national Football League 2008 Community Awards for 'Best League Two Community Matchday Initiative'.

The tournament provides aspiring youngsters with the chance to play in front of thousands of fans at half-time during an Imps League Two fixture, and is proving a massive success among local primary schools. Every player receives a voucher from Domino's Pizza and a certificate from Lincoln City, and the winning school receives a trophy which they can keep as a proud momento.

"We work in many of the schools who take part and its a great opportunity for the youngsters to represent their school in front of thousands of fans at Sincil Bank. The fans really enjoy the half-time entertainment too," says Community Imps Matchday Coordinator, Damian Froggatt. "The competition is open to every primary school in the county, boys and girls, and is growing from strength to strength. And we're always looking to invite new schools to take part and experience the excitement of a match day at Lincoln City."
