Quarter Final 3

Sir Francis Hill 5 St Faith St Martin 0

qf3-pic1.jpgA Kyle Pooley hat-trick secured defending champions Sir Francis Hill's place in this year's semi-finals despite a gallant effort from one of Lincoln's smallest schools St Faith & St Martin. Pooley opened the scoring in the first minute following a defensive mix-up but St Faith's responded immediately when Reece Dickinson's low corner forced a hectic goalmouth scramble. Jack Pollard then bravely threw himself in front of another goalbound effort but moments later Ben Sharpe rose highest to meet Pooley's corner with a powerful header to double the lead.

qf3-pic2.jpgAdam Marshall then latched onto a loose ball and struck a terrific longe range effort which gave James Chapman little chance as SFH extended their lead, but once again St Faith St Martin showed their fighting spirit as Josh Harrison burst forward but his close range effort was blocked on the line.

SFH continued to dominate possession and a clever dribble from Josh Doughty resulted in a speculative lob from Pooley which looped just under the bar. Despite the score, Eddie Lord continued to work tirelessly in midfield for St Faith's while skipper Morgan Lambert deserves a special mention for some outstanding defending as SFH piled on the pressure.

The tie was sealed when Kyle Pooley completed his hat trick when he reacted quickest to a rebound following another excellent save from James Chapman, who also deserves credit in the St Faith goal for a number of other good saves. Congratulations to Sir Francis Hill who now await the winners of Redwood and St John's BBH, and congratulations to St Faith St Martin for a spirited display on behalf of their school.qf3-pic3.jpg
