Quarter Final 4

Redwood 1 St John's 2

qf4-pic2.jpgA nailbiting quarter final Dominos Cup tie was settled by a late late header from Jake Keeton as St John's BBH edged their way past Waddington Redwood to claim the last semi-final spot in this year's tournament.

St John's forced the early pressure and both teams exchanged long range efforts which goalkeepers Oliver Adams (St John's) and Kyle Gage (Redwood) dealt with comfortably. Both teams were intent on playing quick fluent football which produced an entertaining end-to-end game, and the deadlock was broken when Reece Chapman-Savage rounded off a swift Redwood counter attack with a fine left foot strike.

qf4-pic1.jpgPressure from St John's was rewarded with just two minutes remaining when Michael Keegan cleverly glanced home the equaliser when he deflected Bradley Murphy's speculative shot. Then, in a tense finale, and despite some outstanding defending from Redwood, St John's snatched a last-gasp winner when Jake Keeton rose highest to head home Matthew Smith's corner at the near post.

Congratulations should go to both teams for producing such an exciting cup tie, and we look forward to welcoming St John's BBH back shortly to take on Sir Francis Hill in the second semi-final.
