Dominos Cup

Meadows 0 Saxilby 3

meadsaxteam.jpgThis seasons Domino’s Half Time Tournament kicked off at the Shrewsbury game with Meadows Primary and Saxilby Primary facing each other. Saxilby had the first effort on goal with Cain having a shot which was heading for the bottom right corner until Callum pulled off a great save for Meadows Primary.

Saxilby contined to attack Meadows goal with a ball being played out to Harry Bowley on the left side of the pitch, he took advantage of the space in front of him and fired the ball into the back of the net to put Saxilby 1-0 up.  Harry Conte for Saxilby put more pressure on Meadows and forced another brilliant save from Callum. The pressure paid off as Harry Bowley took his second goal by sliding the ball under the keeper to put Saxilby 2-0 up.

Jake Bradford (Meadows) made a great run on the left past 3 defenders but shot wide of the goal.  Some great passing football from Saxilby created another chance but George put his shot wide of the goal.  Meadows then worked the ball up the pitch and was awarded a free kick, Jake Bradford stepped up to take it only for Saxilby’s wall to jump and block the shot.  In the last couple of minutes Saxilby was again pressuring Meadows goalkeeper, Cain took a shot straight at Callum who could only block it.  The ball bounced off him and landed at William Knights feet, he took the opportunity to ensure Saxilby were to go through to the next round by placing the ball in the bottom right corner.
