Bishop King 1 St Faith & St Martin 0

bishstfateam.jpgHalf time during the Torquay United game saw Bishop King Primary and St Faiths & St Martins Primary play in a great end to end game of football full of long range efforts on goal.

After only a couple of minutes of play, a ball was superbly played through the middle of two defenders by Josh Pickersgill from Bishop King.  Logan used his strength brilliantly to hold off a defender and put his shot past the keeper and into the bottom left corner or St Faiths & St Martins goal.

bishstfaaction.jpgSt Faiths & St Martins came straight back at Bishop King and managed to find a way through the defence for Ted Horner-Timmins to have a shot on goal, only for the ball to keep rising and go over the crossbar.  Billy Burrows (St Faiths and St Martins) carried on putting pressure on the Bishop King goal and had a low shot saved by Kane Brader’s leg to go out for a throw in and another shot which Kane caught.  It was down to some great goalkeeping and solid defending that prevented a goal from being scored.

Bishop King then stepped up the pace of the game and several long range efforts from Logan Watt saw St Faith & St Martins goal threatened.  He had a great shot on goal from his own half which came out of nowhere, but went wide of the goal.  Josh Pickersgill made a great run, full of tricks, passed two defenders but put his shot just wide of the goal.  With the goal kick taken and the ball in play the final whistle blew.  An early goal from Bishop King saw them take a place in the quarter final.
