Imps Stars on Target at Skegness Grass Roots
Members of our Grass Roots Scheme at Skegness received a special treat this week when Imps stars Sam Mullarkey and Gary King dropped in to share some of their silky skills.
The two local stars - Mullarkey, from Lincoln, and King, born in Mablethorpe - have forged a successful strike partnership in City's Reserve side this season and they both had lots of tricks and skills to share with the youngsters. They also answered questions and signed autographs before joining in with the coaching session and offering some first hand tips on shooting techniques and scoring g
oals.
The Community Imps Grass Roots Scheme recently achieved a first when Kern Miller, a product of the Skegness Centre, signed scholarship forms with the Imps. "It was great to see the players taking part with the youngsters", commented Claire Markham, the Community Imps Grass Roots Coordinator. "Grass Roots is a great place to begin your footballing experience, enjoy new games and learn new skills under the guidance of our qualified coaching staff. And who knows, we might even find more Imps stars of the future!"
Sam and Gary are pictured with some of the Skegness Grass Roots members, and joining in with the coaching session led by Community Coaches Julian Miles and Greg Brown.
