Kern's journey from Grassroots to Scholarship

kernmiller.jpgThe 2008-09 season became a landmark year for Lincoln City's Football In The Community Grassroots Scheme when Kern Miller became the first ex-Grassroots player to sign scholarship forms with the Imps.

Skegness-born Kern began his footballing journey at his local Imps Grassroots centre but it wasn't long before his potential was identified and the youngster was recommended to the Centre of Excellence.
"I had a great time at my local Grassroots centre in Skegness" says Kern, "Grassroots is a great place to begin your football career, learn new skills and make friends," he added.
Kern, now 16 years old, is a promising young player who has already played for the Imps' Reserve Team and is a regular in the U18 Youth Team.
Community Imps Officer, Richard Cooper, commented, "This is a great achievement for the Grassroots Scheme. It proves that we are providing a clear pathway of development for talented young players and its also a testament to the dedication and commitment of our qualified coaching staff."
